In a surprising crossover event that challenges traditional forecasts, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Mission Disclosed

According to the authorized release, "An unusual confrontation draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where hints of banned ceremonies and fearsome changes resonate through the obscurity." The narrative introduces a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a clandestine cult.

The adventure focuses on "strange experiments and a terrifying foe" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Settings and Changes

The teaser highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser ends with a powerful moment showing a character, presumably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Items and Bonus Content

Players who successfully complete the adventure will acquire an unique katana alongside numerous objects hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

Third Free Story Content

This update also adds the game's third no-cost story content, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive abilities: Naoe introduces a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

The series earlier included a 2020 crossover story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
